True by Made Beautiful Cleansing Conditioner ~ FIRST IMPRESSION ~ Product Review!

Calling All Naturals w/ Curls, Coils & Kinks

Sally’s Beauty Supply store and I have developed a very special relationship as I continue to purchase many products from that store. As I always make my way to the natural hair products these shelves sometimes leave my mind in agony as there is always something new… what does a girl do? As I have been getting more acquainted with SBS over the past few months visit after visit I have noticed this new line True by Made Beautiful slowly fill the shelves. What’s their motto?  Pure ∴ Clean ∴ Natural… sounds like my curls could get down with that! I do my rightly curly girl duty and skim viciously over the ingredients and benefits to see if it would even be worth me trying. As their motto sounds fabulous one thing I have learned is they all do and they don’t all work well enough for my texture. As I gave my thorough investigation (lol) couple of minutes later I found myself in the checkout line with this new product. It’s time to co-wash you guys!

I wasn’t very familiar with this product or this product line so here are a few stats to help you better determine if you may want to give this product a try. I have personally only ever seen this line in SBS and the co-wash I purchased retails for $9.99 for a 13 fl. oz. bottle. This co-wash claims it was designed for 3C/4B/C hair and will cleanse and condition your hair with vital nutrients such as shea butter, honey, coconut & mango. This product is formulated without using any sulfates, parabens and silicones which I know a lot of naturals can surely appreciate. This company has an entire line dedicated to naturals from co-washes, shampoos and even styling products. I always encourage my readers to research and try new products as it’s fun! I am always striving to allow my natural hair journey to remain fun and enjoyable as I continue to navigate through.  One thing I can say about this product is I love their packaging but was the product itself as worth it as their packaging? Follow me to wash day!

So you guys know I love the As I am Co-wash… and it was hard to part with it but a girl has to do what a girl needs to do for research, right? So it’s wash day and I grab my True Co-wash and as I opened OMG… anyone ever chew Bubblicious bubble gum as a child? (lol) This co-wash smelled just like a fruity tropical piece of that gum! I loved it as the smell brought back funny childhood memories. As I rubbed the product between my hands the feel of the co-wash was quite thick and creamy all in one as the color resembles a yellow color. I began adding the co-wash to my scalp first working it all over concentrating on cleaning my scalp. What I did NOT expect was how much this co-wash resembled and performed like a shampoo. I definitely used way too much as I was expecting it to be more like traditional co-washes that usually don’t suds up. I lightly fingered detangled as it claims you can use it to detangle your hair. It did do a decent job for light detangling however if you are one who likes a lot of slip in your co-washes I just didn’t think this provided that. I would like to mention although it wasn’t full of slip I did not experience any tangling or knots. As I began rinsing it out this product came out super easily and I went to grab my hair to touch that after math results what did I come to the conclusion of? Did this co-wash do it for me and my curls and coils?

FINAL THOUGHTS: So-so! So here is the scoop. This co-wash cleansed my hair extremely well so much so that it felt sort of stripped and dry after the product was all rinsed out. I don’t know if using a mild creamy no suds co-wash has jaded my judgement due to the fact it’s what I am used to using now or what. My hair after rinsing out this product also shrunk like nobody’s business I was like where did all my hair go? (lol) I already have naturally very tightly coiled hair I don’t need any additional assistance in that department. (lol) This co-wash didn’t really have very many claims on the bottle other than it would cleanse and condition. Cleanse → yes and condition → not so much for me. My hair did not feel moisturized after using it to my liking. I think if this was a shampoo maybe I would be singing a different tune but I purchased a co-wash and I was expecting something a little more moisturizing. Overall it was a very successful ending to my wash day as I continued my wash day and proceeded to style my hair. Although this product didn’t provide all my hair requires it didn’t stop or impede my wash day. Maybe I will just keep this in the rotation as a mild shampoo… umm no! I so don’t like to waste products but facts are it just didn’t do it for my hair. What do you guys think? I do know I will not be repurchasing it and I hope this review was helpful to you. Have you tried any of the True by Made Beautiful products? If so, do tell → any verdicts? Until next time CHOW! ♥

Lol. I love how you take the audience with you in the way you explain your process. The first time I heard of this product line was on YouTube some months ago but I was never interested in trying it.
